A Belfast Tourist Guide – The Real Belfast And Northern Ireland!

Belfast Tourist Guide

Belfast is a vibrant, thriving capital of Northern Ireland. It is a city that has a rich maritime and cultural heritage at its heart and, with some of the most stunning coastlines in Europe, it is fast becoming one of the UK’s fastest growing tourist destinations. We can ensure your comfortable transfer to Belfast for business or pleasure whether you have a conference to attend or just wish to sample the many facets.

The Freedom to Explore at Your Own Pace

Belfast is a relatively small city with a compact and mostly pedestrianized area in the middle that you can easily walk around. For local public transport in the city it is also relatively easy to get around, but for the scenic spots, picturesque villages and remote rural locations outside of the city then having a car is a lot of fun and takes a lot of stress out of your travels. This is because even though there are many public car parks close to the town centers of many of the local towns and villages, they are often a long way from the other end of town, and in the end a bus tour can be a bit hit and miss, you may only be able to spend a limited amount of time at each location.

Belfast may be the starting point for your visit to Northern Ireland but there is so much more to this wonderful region than this vibrant city. If you are staying for a few days, then to really experience Northern Ireland and take in all the amazing locations then car hire in belfast is the best option.

Driving the Causeway Coastal Route

Belfast is the perfect starting point from where you can hit the road and start your Causeway Coastal Route road trip. A long stretch of Road that runs from Belfast to Derry~Londonderry but don’t let the miles deceive, most sections are signposted and very straight forward to follow.

Key stops along the way include:

The Gobbins: The Gobbins is a spectacular cliff-face path that follows the rugged coastline bringing visitors face to face with thundering waves and local wildlife including seabirds.

The Dark Hedges: This is a very small section of road which features a long tree lined avenue that was planted by the 18th century landlord of the local Hall. The Hedges are favorite among both photographers and production companies due to the very atmospheric setting of the Hedges and the ever changing sea of cloud and rain that surrounds them. The Dark Hedges have featured in Game of Thrones in one of the early scenes where the main characters are traveling along a very gloomy and deserted country road.

Giant’s Causeway: This World Heritage Site is most famous for its basalt columns, that have been weathered over millions of years and are all interlocked. Not only is it famous for its natural beauty, it also has a long history of myth and legend with the most famous story of how it was created by the giant Finn McCool and how he created a path of stones to fight off another giant from Scotland across the sea.

having your own vehicle you can arrive at popular sites such as those mentioned above early in the morning or late in the evening thus avoiding the bulk of coach tourist traffic that arrives in large numbers midday.

Embracing Sustainable Mobility

Travel these days is becoming more environmentally conscious and the Mobility industry has come along way in recent years providing the traveler with more options of sustainable travel. When searching for a vehicle for your road trip, you will find that there are many fuel efficient cars, hybrid vehicles and even fully electric vehicles (EV’s).

Even if you travel with a hybrid or electric vehicle, you can drive around with the mobility of a car while keeping your carbon emission as low as possible. The Northern Ireland government is currently working hard to provide as many charging stations for electric vehicles as possible. As an eco-friendly car traveler, you will definitely.

Planning Your Trip

Make sure to add all of the places you wish to visit but also leave space for other interesting locations. The roads of Northern Ireland are generally of good quality and well signposted. Therefore, whether you’re in Belfast for a conference or meeting, or have hired a car for your business trip or well-earned break, your travel experience will be a smooth, personal and memorable one.
